TEHRAN – Former Labor Minister Ali Rabiei and Cabinet Secretary Mohsen Hajizadeh are the top nominees for government spokesman, ISNA on Sunday quoted an informed source as saying.

The source further said the government will soon name the new government spokesman.

Rabiei was ousted as labor minister on August 9, when he failed to secure the parliament’s vote of confidence following an impeachment over his management of the ministry and unemployment rate.

Hajizadeh has served as the secretary of the cabinet since 2013, when he was named for the post by Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri.

Mohammad Baqer Nobakht resigned as government spokesman on July 31.
